Sunday Morning

Three Wise Men and a Star (Matthew 2:1-15)

Nothing can stop God’s promised plan to send salvation through Jesus His Son.

Yesterday morning our kids heard the story of the star and the three wise men. There was no doubt in the minds of the wise men that they were traveling to see a king far greater than them. Bearing precious gifts, they came to worship the baby. Jesus is worthy of worship because He is God. Because the Son of God gave up His glory to be born as a man, he was no a helpless baby and wicked King Herod intended to destroy Him. But God the Father would not allow it. Centuries earlier, the prophet Isaiah foretold that God the Father would protect His son. He wrote, "The says God... 'I will take you by the hand and keep you'" (Isaiah 42:5a, 6b). Though Herod wanted to take Christ out of Christmas, God's planned prevailed despite his opposition. Nothing was going to stop God from his plan to save us.

Bartimaeus: A Christmas Story - Chapter 4

Be sure to check out the ending of the story at the Bartimaeus House. Once there was despair then turned into joy only found in Christ's coming. Even with so much darkness, Christ comes and breathes life where none can be found.

Praying you finish strong this week as we prepare Christ room and celebrate His coming not only as a church but also with your family. He's almost here!
