The Tabernacle (Exodus 25-27)
God lives among his people.
Sunday morning our kids learned:
1. God lives among His people.
2. God instructs how to build the tabernacle
3. God gives specific plans for the altar of God
Where is Jesus?
How does today's Bible story fit into God's greater plan of redemption?
Read Matthew 27:50-54.
Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice. When he died on the cross, the temple curtain was torn in half. The barrier between God and man was ripped in two. God wanted everyone to understand that Jesus’ sacrifice was enough to forgive all sins for all time. God would not dwell in a temple or tabernacle any longer. Now he would dwell in and among his people. From that moment on, God’s people became the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19). Now his presence dwells continually in the hearts of Christians.
In the home
We are on week 35 which starts on page 231 in the Long Story Short devotional. From of old, to now, God has gone on record in consistently drawing close to His people. We don't serve a God who is distant but continually makes Himself available now in the normal rhythms of everyday of life. This is a great week to gather around with your family and give thanks that God is with us, for us, and leads us as we follow after Him.
Pray about it! Thank God for sending Jesus to be our perfect sacrifice and His desire to be among His people.
