Family Discipleship - "Time" in the Home

Where sin is great, God's grace is greater

Sunday morning our kids learned:
    1.    Even the priests needed to be cleansed of their sin.
    2.   Israel turned from God to idols
    3.   Moses interceded on behalf of the people and God relented

Where is Jesus?

How does today's Bible story fit into God's greater plan of redemption?

Read Hebrews 8:5-13.

Though there are many significant differences between Moses (he was a sinner) and Jesus (he was sinless), there are similarities as well. Moses and Jesus were both mediators between God and man. Just as Moses pleaded with God not to destroy the Israelites when they worshiped the golden calf, Jesus asked his father to have mercy on those who crucified him (Luke 23:34).

In the home

We are on week 36 which starts on page 237 in the Long Story Short devotional. I encourage you to at least walk with your family through days 2-4. From rebellion, to hiding, to Moses interceding, to God extending mercy, we see a picture of what Jesus does for us so we can be free.

Pray about it! Thank God for sending Jesus to stand in the middle for us and the forgiveness He shows His people.
